新加坡人喜爱赌博 乐意支付赌场进入费

　　当新加坡建设两个综合赌场度假村的时候，官方就公开市场目标是游客而不是当地人。

　　赌场将是这一项雄心勃勃的计划的关键，使每年访问新加坡的游客人数增加一倍。政府不提倡当地人赌博，需支付100元新加坡币进入赌场（海外游客不收费）。

　　When they gave the go ahead for the construction of their two integrated casino resorts, officials in Singapore made no secret of the fact the fact that the target market was tourists not locals.

　　The casinos would be the linchpin of an ambitious plan double the number of tourists visiting Singapore each year, and locals would be discouraged from playing by having to pay $s100 to enter the casinos （a charge that doesn’t apply to overseas visitors）。

　　Part one of the plan has been a roaring success with all reports suggesting tourism is going gangbusters. Part two of the plan hasn’t been quite as successful …not that the casinos are complaining!

　　According to figures released by Josephine Teo, minister of state for the Finance Ministry, the total entry fees received by the casinos in 2011 amounted to $S195 million. So just under 2 million times during 2011 a Singaporean citizens or permanent resident entered either the Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa. When you consider the adult citizens or permanent population of Singas is only 3 million, that’s an exceptional patronage rate!
